Reader information / browser storage
Cookie Records
The editorial pages are designed to work without advertising cookies or analytics storage. This record explains the supplied code and the limits of that description.
What cookies and local storage do
A cookie is a small value that a website can ask a browser to store and send with later requests. LocalStorage and sessionStorage are separate browser storage mechanisms. They can remember preferences or identifiers without being cookies. Their privacy relevance depends on their purpose, not just their technical name.
Storage in the editorial code
The supplied HTML, stylesheet and page script do not set cookies, use localStorage or use sessionStorage. Navigation state and scroll-reveal state exist only in the current page. There are no analytics, advertising or social-media tracking scripts in these files.
| Feature | Storage behaviour | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Mobile navigation | Page-memory open or closed state. | Current page only. |
| Scroll reveals | Page-memory observation and CSS classes. | Current page only. |
| Message draft | Form and prepared text in the browser page; no script-managed persistent storage. | Until changed, reloaded or closed, subject to browser restoration. |
| Copy or download | Clipboard contents or a file, only after your action. | Controlled by you and your device. |
Hosting and consent features
Hosting, security or separately supplied consent features may operate outside these editorial files. If a consent panel is displayed, use its controls to make or revise choices about the technologies it describes. This page does not invent cookie names, vendors or expiry periods for technology that is not present in the supplied page code.
A live deployment should identify any added storage, its provider, purpose and duration, and explain how readers can change their choices. Non-essential technologies requiring consent should not run before the appropriate choice has been made.
Your browser controls
Most browsers allow you to inspect and remove cookies and site data through their privacy or site-information settings. Blocking cookies does not prevent the editorial articles, navigation or draft preparation from working. Clearing site data may reset preferences supplied by a separate consent feature.
Downloaded drafts are ordinary files and are not removed by clearing cookies. Clipboard text must be cleared or replaced using your device's controls. Browser autofill and form restoration are managed by the browser, independently of the site's script.
